What materials can a fiber laser cutting machine cut?
Fiber laser cutters handle carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminium, brass, copper and galvanised steel. Cutting thickness depends on laser power — a 3kW unit cuts up to 20mm carbon steel, while 6kW reaches 25mm or more.
What laser power do I need for my application?
For thin sheet metal up to 6mm, 1–2kW is sufficient. For medium plate (6–16mm), 3–4kW is recommended. For thick plate above 16mm, choose 6kW or higher. We help you select the right configuration for your production volume and material mix.
What maintenance does a fiber laser cutter require?
Fiber lasers require minimal maintenance compared to CO2 lasers — no gas refills or mirror alignment. Routine tasks include cleaning lenses and nozzles, checking the chiller coolant level, and replacing consumable nozzles. Most users schedule a full service every 6–12 months.
